CNAnursing-occupations
The CNA must be a Certified Nursing Assistant and be on the Maine CNA Registry within 120 days of being employed. The CNA performs personal care functions such as assisting with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, meals, and snacks. CNAs work a variety of shifts in order to provide assistance throughout the day and night. CNAs at Presque Isle Rehab and Nursing Center document the care they give on an electronic record. CNA-M
The CNA-M (commonly referred to as a CNA-Med Tech) is a current, active Certified Nursing Assistant with at least one year of experience and successful completion of the CNA-Pharmacology course. The primary responsibility of a CNA-M is to administer all medications except injections and narcotics and to perform treatments that are within the CNA scope of practice. CNA-Ms work days and early evening shifts.

Charge Nurse
The Charge Nurse must have a Maine State License as a RN or LPN. We employ licensed nurses who have a positive attitude towards the elderly and good organizational skills. Charge nurses supervise the daily care of our residents and work closely with CNAs, and CNA-Ms. Charge nurses implement physicians’ orders, perform assessments, modify care plans and document on an electronic record. All Charge Nurses have current CPR certification. Charge Nurses at Presque Isle Rehab and Nursing Center work 12 hour shifts.

RN Supervisor
The RN Supervisor must be licensed in the State of Maine; two to four years of experience, preferably in long term care, is required. Supervisors provide direction to Charge Nurses, CNA's and CNA-Ms. Supervisors participate in care plan meetings, write care plans, complete MDS's, monitor infection control practices, coordinate admissions, perform assessments and write monthly summaries. The RN Supervisor works an eight/twelve hour shifts.
